Vietnam Memoir 4

No Time To Waste 081212

I went back to my hotel room to freshen up. Then I was off wandering around Bui Vien. Everyone here is ridiculously friendly it’s scary. I searched for a nice place to eat and found cafĂ© 333, just around the corner. The place was pretty. I sat at the Third level, the terrace, so I could smoke. The food was even more awesome. I ate a double cheeseburger and a watermelon shake, all for less than 5 dollars!

After my epic meal, I decided that I was going to go around the city. This was my only chance, tomorrow I’d be off to the Mekong until the weekend. So I hired a a guy to drive me around the city in a motorcycle nonetheless. Jin was the name of my driver. Perhaps the most perverted motorcycle driver in Saigon. He drove me to the Red Light District, massage parlors and the likes. It was interesting!

On a serious note, he drove me through the Chinese town, Clothes stores, furniture stores, fruit stores and yes, motorcycle stores. Of course, the must-sees were included, the Reunification Palace, the City Hall, the Notre Dame Church, the Post Office and the Saigon River, whew! All that in an hour and a half.

I went back to the hotel and took a quick nap. Headed out to send emails and had dinner in the sidewalk, you heard me right, the sidewalk!

Then it was off to check the night life! It wasn’t all that but hey, that’s Saigon!
